Camera / lightingImages captured by existing automated paint-inspection vision systems
Training data"more than 650 images from six manufacturers, twenty vehicle models, eight plants and thirteen different production lines"
Reported result (quoted)"automatic mask generation via computer vision and Artificial Intelligence is technically feasible and reduces the effort required to set up new inspection systems"
NotesTECNALIA, Oct 8, 2026. Research project, not yet in production: targets the commissioning step where inspection masks are "set manually for each vehicle model and for each installation". The work also "highlighted the importance of having standardised labelling criteria" to improve model generalisation. No detection-rate or time-saving figures published.
